BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A DUI arrest in Maitland has cost Brittany Rowland her job with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, eight years after an earlier DUI case resulted in a conviction and an unpaid suspension.

Maitland police arrested Rowland in Orange County on Sept. 7, 2026. The Sheriff’s Office subsequently confirmed her termination.

The reported allegations extend beyond impaired driving. An officer described bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcohol. While in custody, Rowland allegedly removed one hand from a cuff and threatened an officer’s career. She also allegedly declined a breath test.

The new arrest follows a 2018 DUI conviction during her employment with the agency. The September 2026 allegations remain unproven; an arrest is not a conviction.
