On March 2nd 2026, 1, Officer M. Mitchell #303 and FTO C. Mitchell #251 responded to a report for an Armed suspect. Upon arrival, I, made contact with the complainant, Rodney Edwards (Here on referred to as, V1). V1 advised that he and Kendra Edwards,were involved in a verbal argument over a text message he received that caused Kendra to become upset with him, and where it later turned physical.
V1 further stated, while he was in the kitchen sorting through some mail, Kendra approached him from behind and punched him in the back of the head. This caused him to react where he grabbed her to restrain her from continuing to hit him. The argument continued after separating and during the verbal argument, V1 alleged Kendra grabbed a butcher knife from the kitchen. V1 stated he observed her slamming the knife on the kitchen counter repeatedly and she started walking towards him where he feared for his own safety. V1 further stated he walked away from Kendra towards the master bedroom when he saw Kendra approaching him with the knife in her hand. V1 stated he did so because he was in fear Kendra would attack him with the knife.
V1 advised he did not wish to pursue charges.
V1 showed officers a video surveillance of the incident. Officers were able to observe the events that took place between both parties which corroborated V1's statement. V1 and Kendra Based on V1's sworn statement, the video showing the incident that a crime of domestic violence and aggravated assault had occurred against V1, probable cause was found and Kendra was placed under arrest for Battery DV and Aggravated Assault and transported to Palm Bay Police Department Booking Facility to be processed. Kendra was later TOT'D BCSO jail facility.
This officer took no further action.
